Does your bulldog have skin problems?

Here are some Easy tips to help reduce the paw licking and scratching.

If your dog is constantly scratching and biting, the first thing to do is to see his veterinarian and follow his advice. In general, itching is usually a sign of allergies. And now a days allergies are very common in dogs. Here are a few things you can do to help your pet deal with the scratching and itching.
Make a diet change. Your dog's diet needs to be as pure, and as natural as possible. Make sure there are no additives, food colorings, preservatives and other chemicals in his food. Many dogs are allergic to these additives. Some are allergic to grains. Try a grain free dog food and see if that helps.

How to Clean Bulldog Folds

English Bulldog Wrinkle care,  Caring for your Bulldog's skin issues,

How to Clean Bulldog Folds ~~

Many of us who own English Bulldogs understand that they take a little more care than the average dog. In addition to the routine medications to prevent heartworms and fleas and the annual trip to the vet, English Bulldogs need a little extra care. Bulldog cleaning tips.

The wrinkles we love in English Bulldogs are also prone to yeast infections if not properly cared for. The objective is to keep the area inside the wrinkles clean and dry. Some suggest you clean the wrinkles daily and put cornstarch powder between the folds of skin. While not a bad idea if your English Bulldog suffers from excessive tearing, that may not be necessary for all of them. However, this is not a medical article, but merely a recounting of how we try and prevent wrinkle problems.
While our English Bulldog is generally very accepting of our attention, he is not pleased to have his wrinkles cleaned or his teeth brushed. He is also not fond of having anything put in his ears.
Normally we bathe the dog in a tub about every 14 days. During that time we make an effort to clean his wrinkles, but that is usually not very satisfactory so we concentrate on getting him clean and save other attention for the next day. Often I will cut the nails with my Husband's help.
Wipes for bulldog wrinkles,

For the wrinkle cleaning we use 100 Count MalAcetic Wet Wipes.

Remedy for tear stains in dogs, pads for tear stains,

Tear Stains:  What Causes Canine Tear Stains and How to Remedy

Have you ever seen a dog with red or brown marks under their eyes? Maybe you thought it looked like "goop"? This is actually called tear staining and can be caused by a number of underlying conditions.
Canine tear stains can actually be the result of an ear infection. To prevent ear infections clean out your dog's ears regularly with a cleansing solution, and if you suspect an ear infection has already set in, pay the vet a visit; as ear infections subside, tear markings should too.

Another underlying cause could be allergies. Dogs can suffer reactions to environmental factors, such as food or particles in the air, just like humans. If you notice that your dog's tear stains get worse in certain situations, you should have their allergies checked out. Blocked tear ducts are another culprit for tear stains. They are uncommon; however, they require the assistance of a veterinarian to be cured. Other factors that may contribute to tear markings are bacteria growth (red yeast) and water; sometimes water contains minerals that may contribute to the discoloration.
Certain dog breeds are more susceptible to tear staining, especially ones with light colored fur. These breeds include English bulldogs, Chihuahuas, Maltese, Boxers, Boston Terriers, Poodles, French Bulldogs, Shih Tzus, Cockapoos, Bichon Frise, Lhasa Apsos, Havanese, Cocker Spaniels and King Charles Cavaliers. If you have one of these dogs, you may have to provide extra care in order to keep their tear stains under control.
Unfortunately, tear stains can cause a number of problems for outside of the unattractive look including:
• Irritation to the eyes when hair comes in contact with them.
• Susceptibility to eye infections; symptoms of conjunctivitis in dogs include eye redness, discharge, squinting, pawing at the eyes and other signs of.
• Facial yeast infections that can spread to the ears and paws.
All of these issues can affect an animal's quality of life and should be watched for closely.
To prevent complications, it is important to keep on top of your dog's tear stains . Try to give them baths and wash around the eyes, ears and paws. You will need to wipe off "eye boogers" in order to keep them from staining your pet's fur; this may need to be done more than once daily.
NuVET Plus supplement and the Wipes are a great start.
